Donnie Christian, Director of Bands

Mr. Christian is a graduate of the University of Memphis and holds degrees in Music Education and Percussion Performance.  He has performed with the Memphis Symphony, Arkansas Symphony and was the principal percussionist with the Pine Bluff Symphony Orchestra.  Mr. Christian is a member of PAS (Percussive Arts Society) and has been a presenter at the annual Percussive Arts Convention.


Molly Casillas,  Associate Director of Bands

Molly Casillas is originally from Paris, Texas where she attended Paris High School. After graduation she studied music education at Texas Christian University with professors Bobby Francis, Eric Simpson, Brian Youngblood, and Sheri Neill. During her time there she performed with a myriad of ensembles including the Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Community Concert Band, and was a member of the TCU Drumline.

Previously, Mrs. Casillas worked in Alvin ISD at Manvel High School for three years, serving as Assistant Band Director. During her time there she was responsible for the Marching Band, Concert Band, and Color Guard Program.

Mrs. Casillas is married to her husband, Cinjin Casillas, who is also a band director in Cypress Fairbanks ISD.  They live with their two dogs, Lady and Clover, and cat, Happy.

Maria Singer, Assistant Director

Maria Singer is a music educator that specializes in percussion.  Ms. Singer is an alumna of Texas State University where she received her degree in Music Education.  While at Texas State, she  worked and performed with multiple groups including: The Texas State Marching Band, Symphonic Winds, Orquesta del Rio, and various percussion ensemble.  Maria has also performed with Texas State Indoor Percussion and Teatro Indoor Percussion from Austin, TX.

Since 2014, she  has worked as a Percussion counselor and Latin instructor for the Texas State University Percussion Camp for the past 3 years.

When Maria isn’t teaching or performing, she is playing with her cat, Chloe.


Alexandria Cook, Color Guard Director/English IV teacher

Alexandria Cook has been a color guard instructor for 5 years while completing her English degree from Sam Houston State University, while at SHSU she minored in secondary education and creative writing.  She was a member the is Spirit Independent Class A Winter Guard of Houston, Texas during the 2017 and 2018 seasons.  During those 5 years, by working several jobs, school and participating in color guard she has learned how to work hard and how to have fun at the same time.  Ms. Cook is looking forward of being a member of the MCHS family as an English IV teacher and the Color Guard director and is very excited to show all of her students what she loves to do; the art of story telling through literature and through the performing arts.
